Text: Isaiah 58; Matthew 17
With the heartfelt confession of Day 7 and yesterday’s new found freedom, we can embrace the encouraging side of the Lord’s conversation to Cain, “If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must rule over it” (Genesis 4:7 ESV). We have overcome by His mercy, grace, and power and in that liberty we find an authority through our faith experience that can extend to others. Simply put, to do spiritual battle for others we must be free from personal sin. Otherwise we spend the vast amount of our daily life focused on ourselves, either repenting over failure or in fear it will return, rather than being empathetic to those around us still needing deliverance.
Knowing that you are covered and cleansed by the all-powerful blood of Jesus, intercede for all those who are still bound to those very bands from which you have been freed.
