Text: Joshua 10:1-15; Judges 6:10-24

Over the past two weeks we have been reading Joshua 10-14; in last night’s prayer meeting a specific premise became evident—the need for a warrior’s heart. “So Joshua went up from Gilgal, he and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valor” (Joshua 10:7 ESV).

Each day this week we will continue to examine the text of Joshua 10:1-15. But today begin by reviewing what it means to be a person of valor from our study of Gideon. Recall that before going to war you must have peace (Judges 6:23, 24). At your prayer altar invoke Jehovahshalom—the Lord is peace—over every area of your life. Pray against any annoyance, distraction, anxiety, or an obsession that dispel the tranquility found in the Prince of Peace. Ask for a warrior’s heart, bold and fearless, in knowing that the Lord of Host is your Victor—and be prepared to run into the battle!
